The short version
HeyBeacon is a free tool that helps you check whether a message, link, number or screenshot might be a scam. You don't need an account and we don't ask for your personal information. Our results are our best assessment, not a guarantee. The checks you run help us spot new scams and protect other people. We mask personal information, we never sell your data and we don't use your submissions to train AI models.

1. Who we are
HeyBeacon is powered by Falkin Limited (company number 15971664, registered in England and Wales, registered office Arquen House, 4-6 Spicer Street, St Albans, AL3 4PQ, United Kingdom), which runs this service ("we", "us", "our").
2. Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply when you use heybeacon.com and any related services we provide (together, "HeyBeacon"). By using HeyBeacon, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle your information. If you don't agree, please don't use HeyBeacon.
You must be 18 or over to use HeyBeacon.
3. What HeyBeacon does
You can type, paste or upload something you're unsure about and HeyBeacon will tell you how likely it is to be a scam. We use automated tools to do this, including AI.
HeyBeacon is free. We may add, change or remove features, or stop providing HeyBeacon, at any time. We may also invite you to try new features early. These may be less reliable than the main service.
4. Results are guidance, not guarantees
Scammers change their tactics constantly. A low-risk result does not mean something is safe, and a high-risk result may occasionally be wrong. HeyBeacon does not replace your own judgement or professional advice.
5. What you submit
Only submit what you're entitled to share, and avoid including more personal information than you need to.
We mask personal information. We use automated tools to detect and mask personal information in submissions, but we can't guarantee they will catch everything. We don't mask details that belong to a suspected scammer, such as their phone number or website.
You keep ownership of your submissions. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use them to provide HeyBeacon, detect and prevent scams, and analyse scam trends. This includes sharing scam indicators, such as a suspicious link or phone number, with organisations that help fight scams, without any information that links them to you.
We don't use your submissions to train AI models. Aggregated and de-identified information we create from use of HeyBeacon belongs to us.
6. Using HeyBeacon fairly
You must not:
- use HeyBeacon for anything illegal, or to create or test scams;
- use bots, scripts or other automated means to access, scrape or bulk-submit to HeyBeacon;
- try to reverse engineer, copy, disrupt or get around the security of HeyBeacon;
- upload malware or illegal content; or
- resell HeyBeacon or use it to build a competing service.
We may block access to HeyBeacon if we reasonably believe these terms are being broken.
7. Feedback and surveys
We may invite you to give feedback or take part in surveys or interviews. Taking part is optional. If we offer a reward, we'll explain how it works at the time. We may use any feedback you give us without owing you anything for it.
8. Our rights in HeyBeacon
HeyBeacon, including its software, design, content and branding, belongs to us or our licensors. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes in line with these terms.
9. Our responsibility to you
If you live in the UK: Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights are not affected. Otherwise, we are only responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for business losses or for loss caused by scammers or other third parties. Our total liability to you is limited to £100.
If you live anywhere else: TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HEYBEACON IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS CAUSED BY SCAMMERS OR OTHER THIRD PARTIES OR BY DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON A RESULT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU IS LIMITED TO US$100. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITS, SO THEY MAY NOT ALL APPLY TO YOU.
10. Resolving disputes
Talk to us first. If you have a problem, email legal@heybeacon.com and we will try to resolve it informally. If we can't within 60 days, either of us may take the next steps below.
If you live in the UK: These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there.
If you live in the US: These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, and the Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY. YOU AND WE AGREE TO RESOLVE ANY DISPUTE ABOUT HEYBEACON OR THESE TERMS THROUGH BINDING INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION, NOT IN COURT, AND EACH OF US WAIVES THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO TAKE PART IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
Arbitration will be administered by JAMS before a single arbitrator under its consumer rules and Consumer Arbitration Minimum Standards, in the county where you live or by video. We will pay the fees those standards require us to pay. The arbitrator decides whether a dispute must be arbitrated and may award relief only to you individually. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, or go to court to stop misuse of intellectual property. If the class action waiver is found unenforceable for any claim, that claim alone will be decided by a court.
You can opt out of arbitration by emailing legal@heybeacon.com within 30 days of first using HeyBeacon, with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" and your name.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time and will change the date at the top when we do. If you keep using HeyBeacon after changes take effect, the updated terms apply. Changes to section 10 will not apply to disputes we already know about.
12. General
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms. You may not transfer yours without our consent. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about HeyBeacon, and no one else has any right to enforce them.
